These Instructions/Screenshots are specific for Freespire 1. Freespire 2 will look different.
1. To set up Freespire to connect to the Internet via DSL, you'll generally need the following:
- an Internet Service Provider (ISP) - the login ID and password issued by your ISP
2. Plug one end of the RJ45 ethernet cable that came with your DSL modem into the WAN port and connect the other end to the Network Interface Card (NIC) on your PC. If the PC is powered up you'll usually see a link light established if properly connected.
3. Click on Launch >> Settings >> Control Center.
4. In the Control Center, click Network >> Network Settings and Profiles.
5. Select PPPoE from the drop down menu.
6. Enter your Username and Password in the appropriate fields and hit OK.
You should now be able to surf the internet.
Note: If you are using a Router you have to:
a) Go through your Router configuration to set up PPPoE from within the router (please see your router owner's manual)
b) Set Freespire to use DHCP (the default)
