    • 1 DVD Including proprietary programs, drivers and codecs, and localized versions (with tons of programs and development tools [Autotools, GCC, Automake, CMake, devlibs, and so on]).
    • 1 CD Including proprietary programs, drivers and codecs. English only.
    • A small-sized ISO for network install (like SUSE does). Multilanguages.

  • KBFX as an alternative to the classical K-Menu Scheduled for future versions
    • What about Kickoff the menu used on SUSE 10.2?

  • Play MIDI files out of the box, including those on webpages and those attached to .pps files It's in the Freespire Roadmap
  • Use a kernel with one of these security patches: SELinux, GrSecurity, RSBAC, or AppArmor. Include the tools necessary to configure it. This offers advanced users the option for fine-grain protection against malicious code that exploit holes in buggy software. Scheduled for future versions
  • Include wine and WineXS by default (Cedega is available for purchase on CNR)
  • KBackup instead of Konserve
  • A better or at least another CD/DVD catalog program. The Katalog program and others that come w/CNR don´t work.
  • Support for newer wireless encryption standards such as WPA, WPA2, and 802.11x. WPA Supplicant and kwlan may be a viable solution to this issue. It's in the Freespire Roadmap
  • MythTV or Freevo Installed by default.
  • Fully SMP enabled kernel It's in the Freespire Roadmap
  • An ink-saver program of some sort... a program which allows the user to change the amount of ink used by the printer. This is already available in Windoze under the name "ink saver" and although it is not free is one of the very few extra programs we have purchased for Win. i haven't been able to find one of these in Linux and my Scotch ancestors are turning over in their graves at the number of cartridges our family is going through since we've switched to Linux. We bought a copy of the program because we saw how much we could save since the amount of ink can be varied between 100% and i think something like 10%. Both black and white and the color cartridges can be varied separately.
    • It does exist. In any KDE APP this options is available (OpenOffice.org is a bit different). For GTK Apps (like Firefox and Thunderbird) you first have to set the default configuration under the systemsettings (press Alt+F2 and type systemsettings, then go to hardware > printer). The question would be the integration of kprinter (a kpart, I guess) in GTK Apps (I don't know if linspire already does that) and make it's GUI more simple.
      • Adding: Epson Image/Photo/Printer Tool and HPlip installed and configured by default.
  • I believe that a program like "lightscribe" would be an improvement to Freespire. After burning a CD or DVD you could burn a label on the media.
  • Support for filesystems in userspace (FUSE)
  • Create an option that the system administrator can add a user/users to the "sudoers" file requiring a password.
  • Clam-RB-GTK
  • Continued support for Win4Lin 9x in the kernel.
  • Support for the brand new Intel Driver (965GM and others). This will increase the number of supported chipsets and give Freespire the lead of the mobile segment, even though this would delay (once more) the final release date of FS 2.0.
  • KDE 3.5.7  Tcrow777  talk  22:49, 20 July 2007 (PDT)
  • I would like to see gps mapping software comparable to ( MS streets and trips ) and more video conferencing cross over software for communicating with others still using windoz.

Web Browser

  • Automatic updating of extensions
  • Default download directory (Desktop)
  • Built in OS support for various web based services for online collaboration. E.g. Youtube, Blogger, Allpeers, Google Docs, calender, etc. For e.g., on right clicking on a local document, user should have an options of share online, add collaborators, add viewers, online publishing, blog publishing etc.
  • Integration with kget or an another download manager (by default).

E-mail

  • Lightning extension by Default
  • Improved e-mail notifier (including new messages count)
  • A Page-Down/Page-Up Button set complementary to the Page-Back/Page-Forward button set.

Chat/IM Client

Repositories

  • Pre-Installed version of X-chat
  • Broken package branch to allow tagging and relocating of broken packages until resolved.

CNR

  • Bug Reporting in CNR
  • VLC
  • Display selected apps size after install
  • Mplayer
  • OS upgrade and update feature It's in the Freespire Roadmap
  • Distributed Installation -- Install a CNR package on multiple machines at once. Good for large installations and for testing packages in lab environments. majost
  • Front-end to dpkg –configure -- Many applications (eg: Bugzilla) break without a user running dpkg --configure breaking CNR installs until the process is done. Additionally, the console can be intimidating to newcomers. majost
  • Add to preferences a option to show broken package branch, which would be hidden by default.
  • Add an option to volunteer as a maintainer for a package.
  • Group warehouse items together such as alternate text inputting methods (option to grab some or all of them together). Having too many choices is overwhelming to some users.
  • New installations of things like Mozilla Firefox should replace the older installation as default application in KDE automatically. (i.e. 2.0 should replace 1.5 as the default browser loaded in KDE).
  • I believe that a program like "lightscribe" would be an improvement to Freespire. After burning a CD or DVD you could burn a label on the media.
  • Be able to upgrade to the latest version of KDE though CNR.

APT

  • APT-PLUS from SymponyOS

KMenu

  • Option to set the time delay before sub-menus open
