Features
Opera has many features that will be covered here along with how to effectively use them.
Tabbed Browsing
Tabbed browsing has recently become a common feature among all web browsers, and is now available in all major web browsers and internet suites. Opera has a very intuitive interface for tabbed browsing. This concept allows
So what is tabbed browsing? Tabbed browsing is a tool that allows you to open several webpages in a single window, with each web page represented by a tab, similar to tabs of a folder. Each tab has the name of the web page it currently has open along with an X. If you click the X, the tab will close out and go to the next tab. To open a new tab, you can click the New Tab button to the left, below File, or select File -> New Tab.
Panels
Opera's panels, enabled by pressing F4 or by clicking the left edge of the Opera window, give you quick access to your bookmarks, contacts, browsing history, and much more.To add the current page as a Web panel, click "Add Web panel", or click "Get Web panels" to go to the My Opera download section.
Widgets
Opera Widgets are miniature applications that run alongside Opera and live on your desktop. There are widgets for just about any purpose weather forecasts, games, clocks, dictionaries, media players, and much more.
To find and install a new Opera widget, use the Widgets panel or menu and select "Add widget". This will open a Web page where you can search and download widgets that Opera will install automatically.
Bittorrent
Opera comes with built-in support for the BitTorrent protocol. BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file-distribution protocol that lets you download large files without putting too much strain on one single server, because the download is distributed. When you click a .torrent link, Opera will display a dialog where you can specify which folder you want the file downloaded to. Click "Yes" to start downloading. The BitTorrent preferences can be accessed from the dialog displayed when you start a torrent transfer.
Skins
A skin is a collection of graphics, such as buttons and icons, and instructions used to change Opera's look.Go to Tools > Appearance > Skin to get new skins or manage your currently installed skins. To get a new skin, select "Find more skins", locate a screenshot you like from the displayed list of available skins, then click "Download this skin".When you have confirmed the download, Opera will automatically apply the skin so that you can preview it before deciding whether you want to keep it. If you select not to keep the skin, it will be deleted from your computer by Opera.
