I have a 10-year-old computer I need to set up for a specific purpose. Faile to load Ubuntu because of a problem with acpi; my cousin sent me freespire.

Tried running it from the disk first, to see whther it would be suitable for curmudgeonly old me. Everything went well until it asked for the LOG IN and the PASSWORD.

Can someone please tell me what these might be? If you do not want to post them online, send to my email. Thank you.
