Release notes transclusion
Hi, since Release Notes FS 2 is protected, can you change it so as to transclude each release's notes separately, like with the codes I wrote on Talk:Release Notes FS 2? Changing the Release Notes page to only transclude the latest release notes instead of all the alpha releases would be nice, too. I just think it's more usable in the long-term, wiki-wise, by reducing page size. --Phoenix-forgotten 14:06, 5 February 2007 (PST)

Transclusion
I've separated the first three Alpha versions' release notes into separate pages; it makes things a little more useable IMO, as one can then link to an individual release's notes as with the 1.0.x betas. Could an admin change the contents of this page to something like this?:

- Upgrade path available from Freespire 1.0 not fully tested (apt-get dist-upgrade)

Booting & GRUB
- Automatic boot menu management does not always work. Do not install if you are not experienced at repairing Grub configurations and MBRs.
- Bootsplash only works at 1024x768.

Startup Wizard
- Set Time Zone, Date & Time initially opens a run as Root dialog box, but functions normally on subsequent runs.
- KDE su dialog appears when attempting to change settings from within the startup wizard.
- "Configure Network Settings" in Startup Wizard does not function at this time.
- Setup windows for hostname, password, add user and resolution are behind the startup wizard screen. User has to do Alt + Tab in order to view it. (Only happens on initial boot)

- RealPlayer does not playback audio

- CNR is not included
- Bigpond and AOL dialers have not been included.

Some wireless cards are not working.
- Prism I chipsets result in a hard lock and system becomes totally unresponsive.
- Broadcom chipsets do not work.
- Most ndiswrapper drivers are not working at this time.
- Atmel chipsets presently are missing firmware.

Install:
- Advanced Install "next" button is off screen
- Solution: Tab past the MBR selection to the next (hidden) selection, then hit enter.
- No CD eject screen
- CD doesn't auto eject after install
- No upgrade path available from Freespire 1.0

- No bootsplash support.
- Boots into verbose (not silent w/ splash) mode.
- LiveCD boot opens KDM login. Following steps required to login:
- Ctrl+Alt+F4
- At the freespirelive login prompt: root
- At the command prompt:# passwd
Enter new UNIX password: set password (Retype) - # exit
- Ctrl+Alt+F7
- At the KDM login: root (and password established above)
- Changing clock during LiveCD start-up wizard results in a KDE Control Module crash
- Restart Computer via Live CD, halts at power management
- Ctrl+Alt+Del ineffective (results in Slab: xxxxx kB)

- From the command prompt "sudo iwconfig [interface] [essid x] [enc e]" x: ESSID name; e: encryption key.
