What is Turboprint?
Turboprint is a closed source, proprietary application that allows many printers that aren't natively supported on Linux to be used in Freespire. The "FreeEdition" (which is simply an unregistered copy) allows you to print in low resolutions and is quite functional for everyday printing tasks. If you print in higher resolutions without a license, a watermark will be placed on all printouts.
If you plan to use Turboprint for high resolution tasks such as printing pictures or high quality text, or in a commercial, governmental, or educational environment, you should purchase a registration key (Approx $39 USD) from the vendors website.
Note: Please read the information in the "Installing Turboprint" section if you plan to use Turboprint on your system.

Installation
Due to a compatibility issue, you cannot install the *.deb from the vendors site. However, you can still install TurboPrint using the simple method below.
Step 1:
Download the turboprint-1.95-2.tgz archive in the "Downloads" section of the vendors site. Save this file to the /home/username directory.
Step 2:
Open the Konsole by clicking on Launch>Run Programs>Utilities>Terminal Program (Konsole)
In the Konsole, type the following command: ls turboprint-1.95-2.tgz This should list a file named turboprint-1.95.2.tgz (If not, make sure the file is present in the current directory)
Step 3:
Now extract the files by typing tar -xzf turboprint-1.95-2.tgz
Step 4:
The change to the new directory by issuing cd turboprint-1.95-2
Step 5:
Now you will be able to launch the installation wizard by typing sudo ./setup (You may be prompted to provide your administrator password)
Step 6:
Now just follow the on-screen prompts and you'll be set and ready to go.
