How do I configure my e-mail in Freespire?


Freespire comes with an e-mail client built in and ready to use! To set up your account please follow the instructions below:


1. Open the e-mail client by clicking on the icon in the taskbar.

2. If you do not have an account set up, the Account Wizard will automatically appear. If you are trying to add a second account, you can access the Wizard by clicking Tools >>Account Settings >> Add Account.


3. Select the type of e-mail account you are using and click Next >.

4. On the Identity screen, enter the name you want to appear on your outgoing messages in the first box, and the e-mail address for this account in the second box. Then click Next >

5. On the Server Information screen, select either POP or IMAP, based on your situation. What are the differences. Type in the names of your incoming and outgoing servers (contact your e-mail provider if you do not know this information) and click Next >

6. Enter your username for you mail account (once again, contact your ISP if you do not know your username) and click Next >.

7. Enter a nickname for this account (for example: home, office, dad's mail, etc.).You can put any description you like here. After that click Next >.

8. This screen will show everything you have typed in. Please double check everything here, and if you need to make changes, click the < Back button to get to the page with the information you need to correct. Decide whether you would like to activate the spam filer or not, and whether you would like to download messages right now. After you have verified all the information is correct, click on the Finish button.

Your e-mail account is now set up!
