There are two ways you can install Xfce4; you can install it from the CNR service and also through the command line tool apt-get.

Installing via CNR

To install via CNR, go to this page, then click the green "Install Now" button.

Log out, then click on the "System" text, and click "Sessions". Select XFCE from the choice box that pops up. Log in.

Installing via Apt-Get

To install Xfce4 using apt-get, simply open up the Konsole terminal, and type in:

    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop

Log out, then click on the "System" text, and click "Sessions". Select XFCE from the choice box that pops up. Log in.

Switching back to KDE

To switch back to the K Desktop Environment, simply select the KDE choice from the Sessions popup box.
